Based on a scene at Italian Horror movie, Phenomena French and Divas curated collaboration is loosely based on the romantic gore aesthetic of Dario Argento and the music of metal. Imagine the horrifying image of a Swedish school girl (played by Jennifer Connelly) falling into a pool of decaying, maggot infested bodies while the metal band, Motorhead plays as the soundtrack.

French’s drawings clearly represents gore as he outlines rotting carcass with his work on paper. His work ha been featured on the cover of albums and posters of Metal bands as well as the back of skateboard decks.

Divas feminine and romantic morbid aesthetic completes the narrative of the show. Her work using lace transforms into the lewd textures of moss, spider web and snakeskin. Her photographs and female figures haunts and climaxes into sweet delirium.

double punch gallery is at the heart of north beach. It is a space where art, collectibles and designer toys collide.
