Some of you may have wondered what happened to that cute Lion & Virus art piece shown on the cover of the current gallery show flyer, The Continuous Spectrum, @ double punch. It wasn’t on the gallery walls. Truth is, it was lost in the deep dark corners of Bwana’s studio and by some miraculous act from baby jesus, it was found! So art lovers, if you wish to purchase the LION or VIRUS original art piece by Bwana Spoons, please contact us at store@doublepunch.com or 415-399-9785. They are both ORIGINAL ART, Acrylic, Ink on Paper, and approximately 4″x6″, and $125 each.

Alexei Vella
Opening Reception Friday April 10th 7PM till LATE
Show runs untill May 3rd
Kelly Tunstall received her BA from California College of Arts and Crafts, San Francisco. She has held solo exhibitions in San Francisco, Miami and London as well as group exhibitions in New York, Portland, Tokyo, Detroit, and Los Angeles. Tunstall has been featured in Anthem, Flux, Juxtapoz, Oyster, The San Francisco Examiner, The San Francisco Chronicle, and the Metro Times(cover). The strength and assurance of femininity, in both a sarcastic and reverent sense, are the driving force behind Kelly Tunstall’s body of work.
Scott Barry is a San Francisco based illustrator and designer. He was the Creative Director of ORDINARY KIDS for three years. He now works with MEKANISM, the San Francisco production studio that houses film, animation and interactive content creators. He works with multi-faceted illustrations, graphic crafts, video and installation to allow a glimpse into his psychedelic sometimes-cosmic world.
Ryan Bubnis received his BFA in illustration from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2006. His work has been shown extensively throughout the US, Taiwan and Canada. He has been featured in publications such as Nintendo Power, Clout, Vapors and Juxtapoz magazines. Some of his clients include KidRobot, Nike, P.N.C.A., Ooba, The Portland Mercury, Hasbro, Gama-Go, ABC and 20th Century Fox. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon. Ryan Bubnis’ clean yet chaotic style has been described as “urban folk.” Through his paintings, he comments on themes relating to the human condition. Vibrant, abstracted shapes and faces radiate joy and optimism while they float in and out of rich, multi-layered realms.
Alexei Vella is an honours graduate of Sheridan Institute’s Bachelor of Applied Arts Illustration Program. He specializes in creating images that are striking and complex, sensual yet undeniably intellectually involving. In order to achieve this unique look, Vella employs a complex colour palette, an eclectic application of graphics and texture, and a sophisticated use of antiquated surfaces. Appropriating the colloquial iconography of popular retro forms to an emboldened modern sensibility, Vella’s work has achieved international recognition appearing in a variety of exhibitions and print. Alexei Vella resides in Ontario Canada.
